Our team of professionals at Cruise Toronto have proudly served Toronto Harbour for over 18 years with a touch of class and a lot of style. Our cruise boats are full-service venues specializing in weddings, corporate events, private parties, day tours and educational sail training. We offer a variety of positions in a unique and challenging atmosphere.

Our jobs run from May to October. We seek upbeat, mature people with strong work ethics, a professional attitude and big smiles.

We sail/cruise seven days a week, days and evenings.

We are located in the Toronto Harbour and near local transit, parking and cab service.

OFFICE ASSISTANT

No. of Positions: 1
Description: To assist the Director of Cruise Operations in the running of the charter business. Duties include answering phones, dispersing information to potential clients, typing, filing, ordering, and coordinating with staff.
Start date: May 1st or earlier if selected candidate is available.
Term: Seasonal full time. May 1 - labour day, or longer if selected candidate is available. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Credentials: Strong customer service skills. Excellent communication and written skills. Some knowledge of the hospitality industry and/or event planning would be beneficial. 50wpm typing. Past experience with MAC computers is an asset.

 

CRUISE DIRECTOR

No. of Positions: 2
Description: Oversees the complete operation of the charter as per the direction of the upper management: directs service staff in completing their duties; liaises with the client, the caterer and any other suppliers during the cruise. Responsible for reconciling the bar; collecting monies; overseeing the set up and cleanup of the ship.; ensuring the boat is properly stocked and maintained.
Term: May to October. Full time seasonal.
Credentials: Must be mature, and able to lead staff with customer service excellence always in mind. Excellent communication and math skills required. Smart Serve and First Aid an asset. Previous hospitality, public relations, or event planning experience necessary. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

BARTENDERS

No. of Positions: 3
Description: Serve beverages to passengers and service staff with a friendly and professional manner. Open and closing inventory. Stocking. Set up and cleaning of the work area.
Term: Seasonal Full Time. May to September primarily, with some shifts potentially in April and October.
Credentials: Some bartending experience required. Smart Serve and First Aid an asset. The ability to work daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays is essential. Excellent math skills a must! Good communication skills essential.

 

BANQUET/SERVICE STAFF

No. of Positions: 10
Description: Provide passengers with excellent customer service including cocktail service, dinner service, bussing of tables, set up of tables and some cleaning duties.
Term: Seasonal Full Time. Shift work. May to September with some shifts potentially in April and October. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Credentials: Smart Serve and First Aid an asset. Excellent Communications Skills. Not afraid to get your hands dirty! High level of work ethics, and an upbeat, positive attitude. Self motivation and a need to excel is your best asset. Would prefer candidates with hospitality experience, but we will train the right personnel.

 

GALLEYHAND/DISHWASHER

No. of Positions: 2
Description: To assist with the set up, operation and clean up of the catering area. Liaise with the caterer and help where needed. Set up and maintain a coffee/tea station. Wash dishes/cutlery and some glassware. Clean and maintain the buffet/bussing area/galley.
Credentials: Hard working and positive attitude. Not afraid to get his/her hands dirty. Self-motivated. First Aid an asset. Must be available to work daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Captain: must have at least a Limited Master over 60 tonne ticket.
First Officer: must have at least a Limited Mate over 60 tonne ticket.
Marine Engineer: must have a restricted engineer, or 4th class marine engineer's ticket.
